How grading works at University of Sargodha

University of Sargodha uses an absolute grading system on a 0-4.00 scale: your percentage marks in a course map to a fixed grade point and letter grade, based on a university-wide table, not a comparison to classmates. Fractional marks are rounded to the nearest whole mark first (60.1 and 60.9 both round to 61).

Ten letter grades carry grade points — A+, A, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, D and F — plus three non-GPA administrative marks: W (Withdrawal), RL (Result Late) and R (Repeat). The minimum passing mark for any course is 50%. The exact marks-to-grade-point mapping is shown in the Grade Scale Reference on this page.

How University of Sargodha calculates GPA and CGPA

Your GPA for a semester is the sum of each course's grade point multiplied by its credit hours, divided by the total credit hours attempted that semester. CGPA is the same calculation across all completed semesters. Marks in each course are rounded to the nearest whole percentage point before being converted to a grade — e.g. combined marks of 69.4% round to 70%.

Semester GPA is rounded to two decimal places; CGPA is not rounded.

Academic probation and dropout at University of Sargodha

To be promoted to the 2nd semester, a student must pass at least 50% of offered courses with a minimum 1.75 GPA in the 1st semester. From the 2nd semester onward, a student must keep passing at least 50% of offered courses and meet a rising minimum CGPA floor each semester — from 1.75 early on up to 2.50 by the final semester of a 4-year programme (the exact floor depends on programme length: 1-year, 1.5-year, 2-year Associate Degree, 3-year, 4-year or 5-year).

A student who misses the CGPA floor or fails more than 50% of offered courses is dropped from the semester/program, and may be readmitted only once to the relevant/previous semester, subject to a re-admission fee and departmental permission. A second drop after that readmission ends enrollment permanently.

Frequently asked questions

Can I save my semesters and track my CGPA at UOS?
Yes. After you calculate a semester's GPA, click "Save as semester" to add it to the built-in CGPA tracker, which then computes your cumulative GPA across every saved semester using the standard weighted formula (Σ SGPA × credits ÷ Σ credits). You can save semesters by course (full breakdown) or quick-add a past semester with just the SGPA and credit hours. Locking, renaming, and deleting saved semesters are all supported, and the tracker shows a running CGPA plus a trend arrow versus your previous semester.
How do I convert SGPA to CGPA at UOS?
Your CGPA is the credit-weighted average of every semester's SGPA. The formula is: CGPA = (SGPA₁ × credits₁ + SGPA₂ × credits₂ + … + SGPAₙ × creditsₙ) ÷ (credits₁ + credits₂ + … + creditsₙ). On this page, add each semester to the CGPA tracker (either by course or as a quick SGPA + credit-hours entry) and the calculator runs the conversion for you on every save, edit, and delete — no manual arithmetic required.
Can I add past semester GPAs without entering every course?
Yes. On the My CGPA Tracker tab, click "Add semester" and choose the quick-add option. You enter just the SGPA and the credit hours for that semester — no course-by-course breakdown required. It works as a GPA calculator with previous semesters support, or as a GPA calculator without course details when you only remember the SGPA from your transcript. Quick-added and course-by-course semesters can be mixed freely; both contribute to your CGPA using the same credit-weighted formula.
Is my CGPA tracker data sent to your servers?
No. Your saved semesters are stored locally in your browser only — nothing is transmitted to GPAWise. A "Clear all tracker data" button is always available on the tracker tab to wipe the data on demand.
Is this University of Sargodha (UOS) GPA calculator free?
Yes — GPAWise is completely free to use. There's no signup, no paywall, and your inputs stay in your browser.
What CGPA do you need to graduate from University of Sargodha?

You need a minimum 2.50 CGPA to graduate (2.00 CGPA for the 2-year Associate Degree), having passed all courses required by your scheme of studies.

A second drop after that readmission ends your enrollment permanently.
