A student's academic standing is based on a cumulative and term grade point average (GPA). All credit hours attempted at Gwinnett Technical College in any program of study are used in calculating the GPA.
Credit earned at other institutions, credit by examination, credit by articulation, and credit given for developmental studies classes (Learning Support courses, graded A*, B*, or C*) are not used in computing GPA.
A minimum of 70 percent (a grade of "C") is required to receive credit for a course, and a course must be completed with a "C" or better before a student can begin any additional coursework that requires it as a prerequisite.
Grades of "TR" (Credit by Transfer), "AC" (Articulated Credit), and "EX" (Credit by Examination) carry no numerical grade points and are not counted in the GPA.
