University of Swabi (UoS) GPA Calculator

University of Swabi grades every course on a fixed percentage-to-letter scale, from A+ (4.00 grade points) down to F (0.00), printed in its Semester Rules for Bachelor and Master programmes. The same table applies university-wide to both undergraduate and graduate programmes — there is no separate scale for a particular campus or discipline. Results are recorded on the transcript by percentage marks, letter grade, and grade point together.

University of Swabi computes a Grade Point Average (GPA) for each semester and a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) across all semesters, both as a credit-hour-weighted average: each course's grade point is multiplied by its credit hours, these are summed, then divided by the total credit hours.

• A course dropped or withdrawn from is marked W on the transcript and does not carry a grade point.
• Courses taken as non-credit appear on the transcript but have no impact on CGPA.
• If a student repeats a course, the old grade is replaced by the new grade for CGPA purposes; but if the student instead takes a different course in place of the failed/dropped/withdrawn one, both grades remain on the transcript.

A student is placed on probation the following semester if their semester GPA falls in a set range: above 1.00 and below 2.00 for undergraduate students, or above 1.50 and below 2.50 for graduate students. How many probations a student can be placed on depends on programme length — two-semester programmes allow none, four-semester programmes allow one, and eight-semester programmes allow two. Failing to raise the GPA to the required floor (2.00 undergraduate / 2.50 graduate) by the end of the final allowed probation leads to cancellation of admission.

A student can also be dropped out of their programme on disciplinary grounds, for 7 consecutive days of unexplained absence without readmitting within 15 days, or if their GPA falls below 1.00 in any semester.

To be awarded a degree, a University of Swabi student must maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.00 for a Bachelor's degree and a minimum CGPA of 2.50 for a Master's degree — these are also the grade points printed for the C and C+ letter grades respectively, which the grading table marks as the passing grade for undergraduate and graduate students.

Degree completion also requires the prescribed credit hours: a minimum of 130 credit hours for a Bachelor's (Hons) degree and 66 credit hours for a Master's degree, within the maximum permitted semesters for the programme.

University of Swabi awards a Gold Medal to the 1st position holder in a discipline (by order of merit), a Silver Medal to the 2nd position holder, and a Bronze Medal to the 3rd position holder, along with a certificate of merit for the Gold Medal. To qualify, a student must not have failed or repeated any course, and must have completed their coursework in the normal prescribed period on the first attempt.

If more than one student ties on CGPA, the tie is broken by percentage of marks obtained; if still tied, all tied students receive the Gold Medal. A university committee (including the Controller of Examinations, Registrar, and Deans) decides Gold Medal / Roll of Honor awards.

University of Swabi does not allow migration of students from another university, college, or institute, in order to protect its merit policy and maintain quality of education. The Vice Chancellor or the Academic Council may grant migration only in a special case, at their discretion.
