How DHA Suffa University grades courses
DHA Suffa University (DSU) awards letter grades and corresponding grade points on a 4.00–0.00 scale. Under its Absolute Grading System, the letter grade in every course is fixed by the total absolute marks a student earns, following the marks bands shown in the Grade Scale Reference on this page.
DSU also operates a Relative Grading System for classes of 20 or more students: there, the grade points attached to each letter stay the same, but the marks needed for each letter are set by the class distribution rather than the fixed bands. Classes with fewer than 20 students are graded on the Absolute system.

How DSU calculates SGPA and CGPA
A student's Grade Point Average is computed from the grade points of the letter grades earned, on the 4.00–0.00 scale. The passing floor is D (1.00 grade points), earned at 50% marks; below 50% is an F worth 0.00 and does not clear the course.
- A course attempted more than once shows every attempt on the transcript, but only the highest grade earned counts toward the CGPA.
- A student with attendance below 75% in a course is barred from its final examination and awarded F, which can only be cleared by repeating the whole course.
- Summer-semester courses are taught at double pace but are counted as their normal credit-hour weight when the GPA is calculated.

Probation, relegation and withdrawal
DSU's rules for academically deficient students (effective Spring 2014) key off the CGPA:

What it takes to graduate from DSU
The University awards a degree to a student who has:
- completed the minimum credit hours prescribed for the program;
- achieved a minimum CGPA of 2.0 for undergraduate programs and 2.5 for graduate programs;
- no un-cleared F, I or W grade in any course required for the degree;
- completed the required design/research project, thesis or case study;
- completed any mandatory non-credit internship and community-service hours required by the program, and cleared all dues.

Honors lists and medals at DSU
- Vice Chancellor's Honors List — students with a semester SGPA of 4.0.
- Dean's Honors List — students with a semester SGPA of 3.5 or higher but below 4.0.
- Gold and Silver Medals — require a minimum CGPA of 3.5 and go to the first- and second-highest CGPA within a graduating class. Ties are broken by percentage; a double tie on both CGPA and percentage awards the medal to all tied students.

Transfer credit and migration
Credits from other institutions are assessed by the Equivalence Committee on course content, credit hours and eligibility, subject to:
- a maximum of 50% of the program's total credits may be transferred;
- only courses with an original grade of C or better (undergraduate) or B or better (graduate) are eligible;
- transferred courses are not used in calculating the student's DSU CGPA;
- students with transferred courses are not eligible for medals (except where exempted by rule).
Migration into DSU is allowed only from HEC-recognised institutions with a minimum CGPA of 2.50/4.0 and an NOC, and is not permitted in one-year programs.
