How Indus University grades coursework
Indus University follows the Higher Education Commission (HEC) letter-grade scale on a 0.00–4.00 grade-point system. Each course result is reported as a letter grade carrying a fixed grade point, with A the highest at 4.00 and F (below 50%) a failing grade worth 0.00. The full mapping of marks to letter grades and grade points is shown in the Grade Scale Reference on this page.
A course grade is built from continuous assessment and examinations across the semester: quizzes (5) and an assignment/project (10) make up the 15-mark continuous-assessment component; two class tests (5 each) and a mid-term (25) complete the internal assessment, and the mid-term component together accounts for 50% of the course, with the final examination the remaining 50%.

Course load after failing courses
A student who does not pass three or more courses offered during a module can have the next semester's course load restricted to roughly 9–12 credit hours instead of a full load. Such students must re-register for the failed courses in the immediate next semester.
