How grading works at Karachi Institute of Technology and Entrepreneurship (KITE)

How Withdrawal (W) and Incomplete (I) grades affect GPA at KITE
A Withdrawal (W) is recorded on the transcript when a student drops a course by the mid-semester cutoff (with Head of Department approval); it does not count toward GPA, but stays on the transcript permanently. Students are limited to 4 withdrawals across a bachelor's degree.
An Incomplete (I) is granted only if a student's work is passing quality and at least 60% of the course requirements are met; it does not count toward GPA for that semester. If the coursework is not finished by the start of the 3rd semester after the Incomplete was issued, the grade automatically converts to an F.

Probation, dismissal, and course-repeat rules at KITE
An undergraduate is placed on scholastic probation whenever cumulative University GPA falls below 2.00, at every credit-hour level. The dismissal floor rises with credit hours completed: below 1.50 GPA under 15 credit hours, below 1.70 for 15–44 hours, below 1.85 for 45–59 hours, and below 2.00 for 60 or more hours. A student is removed from probation once cumulative GPA reaches 2.00 or above at the end of a grade-reporting period. Engineering students are separately placed on engineering probation if their major-area GPA falls below 2.00, and dismissed after two long semesters without recovering to 2.00.
Students may register for at most 19 credit hours per semester without Dean/Director approval, and never more than 21 unless they have completed at least 90 cumulative credit hours.
A course graded below C- (including F) may be repeated; the new grade replaces the old for CGPA purposes, up to a cap of 12 credit hours or 5 courses (whichever is less) per degree — beyond that cap, both old and new grades count toward CGPA. A course may only be repeated once without special approval.
