About GPAWise

GPAWise calculates your GPA with the grading scale your own university publishes — not a generic 4.0 conversion. It is free, needs no account, and is not affiliated with any institution.

What GPAWise is

Grading scales differ more than most people expect. One university's A is 90–100%, another's is 80–100%; some award 4.33 for an A+, some grade on 5, 7 or 10 points, and some publish marks bands with no grade points at all. A calculator that assumes one scale for everyone gives a confident, wrong number.

GPAWise keeps a separate calculator for each university, built on that university's own grading table. Where we have confirmed the table against the institution's published policy, the page links to that document and carries a Verified badge. How we verify explains exactly what that involves — and what it does not.

Alongside the university calculators there are general GPA and CGPA tools and plain-English guides to grading systems.

What GPAWise is not

  • Not official. GPAWise is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any institution listed. University names and trademarks are the property of their respective owners.
  • Not your transcript. Your official GPA is the one your institution calculates. Use GPAWise to plan and to check your arithmetic, and confirm anything that matters with your registrar.
  • Not a credential evaluation. Our converters show what a published scale says; they are not the official evaluation an admissions office or credential service may ask for.

Free, no signup, and your data stays with you

GPAWise is completely free, with no signup and no paywall. Your inputs stay in your browser and are never sent to a server unless you choose to submit feedback or a correction. The university calculators save the courses you enter in your browser's local storage, so they are still there next semester; clearing your browser data removes them.

How you can help

  • Spot an error? Every university calculator has a Suggest a correction button. Suggestions are reviewed against the institution's published document before anything changes.
  • University missing? Request your university. We consider requests when we choose which universities to add next.
  • Know where your university publishes its grading rules? Tell us at info@gpawise.com — an official source is what turns an unverified calculator into a verified one.
