How grading works at SBBWU
SBBWU rates students on an Absolute Grading System with four performance-level letter grades — A, B, C and D — plus two administrative markers, W (Withdrawn) and I (Incomplete), that carry no grade point of their own. The passing mark in each paper is 50%.
Theory course marks are weighted 30% Mid-Term, 20% Internal Assessment (5% assignments, 5% presentations, 10% quizzes/tests) and 50% Final-Term. Lab courses follow the same 30/20/50 split, with the internal 20% made up of lab attendance, notebook completion and presentations/demonstration, and the Final-Term made up of viva voce plus practical performance.

How SBBWU calculates SGPA and CGPA, and its rounding rule
SBBWU computes Semester GPA (SGPA) and Cumulative GPA (CGPA) as the credit-hour-weighted average of grade points: the sum of (credit hours × grade point) for each course, divided by the total credit hours — SGPA over one semester, CGPA over all semesters completed.
Rounding follows a specific rule: a fraction of 0.5 or above in the 3rd decimal place rounds the 2nd decimal up (e.g. 3.536 → 3.54), while a fraction of 0.4 or below in the 2nd decimal is disregarded (e.g. 3.464 → 3.46).
A Withdrawn (W) course is not counted as an F and is excluded from the GPA/CGPA calculation entirely; the credit hours of an Incomplete (I) grade are likewise excluded until the grade is resolved.

How does SBBWU round CGPA?
SBBWU rounds a fraction of 0.5 or above in the 3rd decimal place up (e.g. a GPA of 3.536 becomes 3.54), and disregards a fraction of 0.4 or below in the 2nd decimal place (e.g. a CGPA of 3.464 stays 3.46).

Does a withdrawn or incomplete course affect your CGPA at SBBWU?
No. A Withdrawn (W) course is not treated as a fail and is left out of the GPA/CGPA calculation entirely. An Incomplete (I) grade's credit hours are also excluded from GPA/CGPA until the grade is resolved.
