San Jacinto College (San Jac) GPA Calculator

San Jacinto College calculates earned grade points by multiplying a course's credit hours by the grade point value of the grade received. The GPA is the total grade points earned divided by the total term hours completed in unduplicated courses graded A, B, C, D, F, or FX.

• Only courses completed at San Jacinto College count toward the GPA.
• For a repeated course, only the highest grade earned counts toward the cumulative GPA.
• Grades of I (Incomplete), W (Withdrawal), and WL (Withdrawal within Limit) are neutral and are not included in any GPA.

San Jacinto College has established 2.0 as the minimum overall institution GPA for a student to remain in good academic standing. The transcript GPA is calculated on all credit posted to the San Jacinto College transcript, including college preparatory courses.

San Jacinto College recognizes several honors distinctions:

• Dean's Honor List — a GPA of at least 3.5 as a full-time student (12 or more hours completed in the term); recorded on the official transcript.
• Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) — at least 12 hours applicable to an associate degree, a 3.5 GPA, and an invitation from the college's chapter.
• National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) — a 3.5 GPA in technical courses, an instructor recommendation, and 3-5 hours of community service.
• Honors Program — a 3.25+ cumulative GPA on at least 12 hours of college credit, or, for first-time-in-college students, a 3.25+ GPA, a 4 or 5 on an AP exam, top 20% of high school class, 1,100 SAT (reading + math), or a 26 ACT score.

San Jacinto College guarantees transfer of credit to publicly supported Texas colleges and universities that participate in its Guarantee of Transfer Credit Program, when coursework is completed according to an approved and properly executed transfer plan. Limits on total transferable credits, required grades, relevant GPA, and duration of transferability follow the receiving institution's catalog or transfer agreement.
