What counts toward your GPA at Massasoit

Massasoit records grades on a four-point system running from A (4.0) down to F (0.0), with no A+ grade published anywhere.

Several marks appear on a transcript but carry no grade points and are not counted in your GPA: AU (Audit), I (Incomplete — converts automatically to an F if not resolved by the end of the following semester), NG (No Grade), P (Pass, though the course still counts toward graduation), and W (Withdrawn).

How your GPA is calculated at Massasoit

Your semester GPA is the total quality points earned that term divided by the credits completed; your cumulative GPA is the total quality points earned divided by the total credits attempted. Quality points for a course are the grade's point value multiplied by the course's credits.

If you repeat a course, only the higher grade counts toward your GPA — every attempt still appears on your transcript. You may attempt a course up to two times without permission; three or more attempts require discussing success strategies with an academic counselor first, and no course may be attempted more than five times.

Can I save my semesters and track my CGPA at Massasoit Community College?
