How GPA is calculated

Quality points for a course equal the number of credit hours for that course multiplied by the quality-point equivalent of the final letter grade. Semester GPA is the total quality points earned that semester divided by the total credit hours attempted that semester; cumulative GPA divides the total quality points earned at the College by the total credit hours attempted at the College.

The grades I (Incomplete), T (Transfer Credit), W (Official Withdrawal), and X (Unofficial Withdrawal) are not counted in either GPA calculation. Other non-scored designations on the transcript include AW (Administrative Withdrawal), O (Audit), PC (Permission to Continue), S (Successful), and U (Unsuccessful) — none of these carry a quality-point value.

How do I convert semester GPA to cumulative GPA at SUNY Adirondack?
Your cumulative GPA is the credit-weighted average of your semester GPAs across every semester: (semester GPA₁ × credits₁ + … + semester GPAₙ × creditsₙ) ÷ (credits₁ + … + creditsₙ). Save each semester to the tracker on this page, by course or as a quick semester GPA + credits entry, and it works out your cumulative GPA on every save, edit and delete.
Is this SUNY Adirondack GPA calculator free, and is my data private?
Yes. GPAWise is free, with no signup, and your courses and saved semesters stay in your browser: nothing is sent to our servers. "Clear all tracker data" on the tracker wipes them at any time.
