How GPA Is Calculated
Grade point average (GPA) is calculated by dividing the total grade points earned by the number of credit hours taken. For repeated courses, the most recent grade is used in the calculation. For students granted Fresh Start status, only grades earned after returning to the college count toward the GPA. Developmental courses are not calculated in the GPA.
Some grades and notations are not used to determine GPA: H (Honors, appears next to a course), I (Incomplete), N (No grade/no credit), P (Passing, C or higher), R (Official withdrawal from college), S (Satisfactory, non-degree-credit courses), T (Audit), and U (Unsatisfactory, non-degree-credit courses), and W (Official withdrawal from a course).

Minimum GPA to Graduate
Each graduating student must earn a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average.
A separate Program Grade Point Average (PGPA) of at least 2.0 is also required, calculated only from the courses used to meet program and degree requirements (including program and free electives); transfer credits are not counted toward the PGPA. Students in the Nursing Program must reach a minimum 2.15 PGPA to graduate.
