How Weber State Calculates Your GPA
Weber State maintains three separate GPA figures. The total institution GPA counts only courses taken at Weber State and is the official GPA shown on the transcript, used for academic standing and graduation honors. The total transfer GPA counts only courses from another regionally accredited institution. The overall GPA combines both and is not official, though departments may use it for purposes such as admissions.
Several grade symbols are excluded from the GPA entirely: AU (Audit), CE (Continuing Education), CR/NC (Credit/No Credit), I (Incomplete, until resolved), NG (No Grade Reported), SC (Special Credit), T (Temporary Status, until a final grade posts), and W (Withdrawal). By contrast, UW (Unofficial Withdrawal) is counted in the GPA at 0.0, the same as a failing grade.
When a course is repeated, it appears on the transcript each time but counts once toward total hours, and only the most recent letter grade is used in the GPA — a later CR does not discount an earlier letter grade. Once a bachelor's degree has posted, courses used for that degree cannot be repeated to raise the GPA.

How Transfer Coursework Affects Your GPA
Weber State's total transfer GPA is calculated only from courses completed at another regionally accredited institution and does not include any Weber State coursework. The separate overall GPA blends transfer and Weber State courses together, but it is not the official GPA of record.
