How GPA Is Calculated
GPA is calculated by dividing total grade points earned by the number of credits attempted. A grade of F earns zero points, but its attempted credits are still counted in the GPA.
- P, PP, S, H, and M grades award credit without grade points and are excluded from the GPA calculation entirely.
- U, I, W, and X grades provide neither credit nor grade points.
Students cannot graduate with an Incomplete (I) or Grade Not Available (X) on their record.
