University of Dhaka (DU) GPA Calculator

The University of Dhaka grades courses on a 10-point letter scale from A+ down to F, matching the UGC Bangladesh Uniform Grading System. There is no letter grade between D and F — a mark below 40% is graded F directly.

This letter-grade table is set at the program level: it appears consistently across curricula from different faculties at DU (confirmed independently in Science and Arts program documents), but no single university-wide grading ordinance publishing it centrally was found.

Minimum CGPA/GPA to advance to the next year is set per faculty, not by one university-wide rule.

Science-cluster programs (e.g. Nutrition and Food Science, Microbiology, both BS Hons.) use a tiered promotion floor that rises each year: GPA ≥2.00 to move from 1st to 2nd year, CGPA ≥2.25 to move from 2nd to 3rd year, and CGPA ≥2.50 to move from 3rd to 4th year.

Arts-cluster programs (e.g. BA Hons. in English) instead use a flat CGPA ≥2.00 floor for every year-to-year transition.

The University of Dhaka does not publish one university-wide graduation CGPA floor — the minimum is set per faculty, and the two clusters confirmed differ:

Science-cluster programs (BS Hons., e.g. Nutrition and Food Science, Microbiology) require a minimum graduation CGPA of 2.50 on the 4.00 scale.

Arts-cluster programs (BA Hons., e.g. English) require a minimum graduation CGPA of 2.00, with a minimum grade point of 2.00 in each individual course.
