How Your GPA Is Calculated

Triton College computes cumulative GPA as: grade points × semester hours graded "A" through "F," divided by total semester hours graded "A" through "F."

Only A, B, C, D, and F factor into the calculation. Incomplete ("I"), Withdrawn ("W"), Pass ("P"), Reschedule ("R"), and Audit ("T") do not affect GPA — "I" is printed with a value of 0 points per semester hour, but hours graded "I" are excluded from both the numerator and denominator, so an Incomplete has no effect on GPA either way.
