Bergen grades on a 4.0 scale with seven scored letter grades: A (4.0), B+ (3.5), B (3.0), C+ (2.5), C (2.0), D (1.0), and F (0.0).

There is no A+ and no minus grades — the only half-point “plus” grades are B+ and C+.

An “N” (Incomplete) carries no grade points and is not computed in your GPA; unresolved N grades convert to F by the deadline in the academic calendar.

Your GPA is found by multiplying each course's grade point value by its credits to get “quality points,” then dividing your total quality points by your total graded credits.

If you repeat a course in which you earned a D, C, C+, B, or B+, only the higher grade counts toward your GPA — the lower attempt is marked “R” and excluded. The same rule applies if you repeat an F.

A grade preceded by “@” has been granted Academic Forgiveness and is excluded from your GPA calculation entirely.

Satisfactory academic standing requires a minimum cumulative GPA that rises with your credits attempted: 1.8 at 12–28 credits, 1.9 at 29–47 credits, and 2.0 at 48 or more credits.

Falling below that threshold places you on Academic Warning; missing it again the following semester moves you to Academic Probation, and a further shortfall can lead to Academic Suspension. You're restored to satisfactory standing once your cumulative GPA meets the scale again.

To be eligible for an Associate degree (A.A., A.S., A.A.S., A.F.A.) or a certificate, you must be in good standing and complete your program's required credits with a 2.0 or better cumulative GPA.

The Dean's List recognizes degree-seeking students with a 3.5 cumulative GPA or better and at least 24 credits; the Honors List uses the same 3.5 threshold at a lower 12-credit minimum. Students with unresolved “N” grades are ineligible for either list at compilation time.

Phi Theta Kappa membership requires a qualifying GPA that eases as your credits grow: 3.75+ at 12–15 credits, down to 3.60+ at 48 or more credits; continued membership requires holding at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA.

Credit accepted from another institution is recorded with a TR grade, which carries no grade points and is not counted toward your cumulative GPA — it counts toward earned credits only.
