Regent University GPA Calculator

Only courses completed at Regent University are included in the computation of the cumulative GPA. When a course is repeated, the attempt with the highest grade points and semester credit hours earned is the one used in computing the GPA; every grade entry remains part of the student's permanent academic record on the transcript, even attempts that are excluded from the GPA calculation.

Undergraduate students whose cumulative GPA falls below 2.00 at the end of any semester are placed on academic warning, with enrollment capped at twelve credit hours (thirteen with a lab science course) until the cumulative GPA is raised to 2.00 or higher by the end of the next semester. A student who earns a 0.00 GPA during an academic-warning semester moves directly to academic suspension. A student who remains below 2.00 after a semester on probation is placed on academic suspension; a suspended student may petition for an academic-grace semester, during which a 2.00 term GPA must be earned or the student is academically dismissed.

A baccalaureate degree requires a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00, in addition to completing all degree requirements specified in the catalog and settling all financial obligations to the university. Students on academic or disciplinary probation are not permitted to graduate.

Baccalaureate degrees with honors are conferred by cumulative GPA, not rounded up: Summa Cum Laude for 3.95-4.00, Magna Cum Laude for 3.90-3.94, and Cum Laude for 3.85-3.89. Latin honors apply only to candidates who have completed at least 25% of their degree coursework in residence at Regent University (at least 30 of 120 required credits); grades for transferred courses do not count toward the Regent GPA or toward Latin honors.

Separately, the Dean's List recognizes degree-seeking students completing at least nine credits in a semester with a 3.85 semester GPA; a grade of Incomplete in that semester disqualifies a student for that term.

Only transfer coursework graded C (2.0 on a 4-point scale) or higher is accepted, and up to ninety credit hours may be granted via placement exams or prior-learning assessment. Transfer grades are not entered on the Regent University transcript and are not used in the calculation of the cumulative GPA; courses transferred as "P" or "S" count as earned credit but do not affect the GPA or graduation honors.
