Program-specific passing grades
Conestoga uses one grade scale college-wide, but some programs set a higher passing grade. In those programs, any mark below the program's passing grade is an F. The grade points for passing letters do not change.
- Most courses: 55% (D) to pass.
- Degree, Early Childhood Education, Pre-service Firefighter and Social Services programs: 60% to pass.
- Health Science programs: 65% to pass.
- Apprenticeship programs (excluding Apprenticeship – Diploma programs): 70% to pass.
- Gas Technician courses: 75% to pass.
In the Health Science, Early Childhood Education, Pre-service Firefighter and Social Services programs, Liberal Studies courses and courses whose outline states a different passing grade are exceptions.

How Conestoga calculates GPA
Each course's grade point is multiplied by its credit value to give quality points. Term GPA and Program GPA equal total quality points divided by total credits. Credits for clinical, work experience and co-op courses may be weighted at less than the actual hours.
The transcript also shows a Term Weighted Average and a Program Weighted Average, both expressed as percentages.
When a course is repeated, every attempt appears on the transcript, but only the most recent grade counts toward the program GPA. If a course is failed and the repeat is also failed, only one failure is used in the GPA.
Pass/Fail courses, ungraded courses, Aegrotat (AG), Audit (AU) and the other transcript notations do not affect GPA.
