Grading System
Brazosport College uses a standard letter-grade system with grade points assigned per semester hour:
- A — Excellent: 4 grade points
- B — Good: 3 grade points
- C — Average: 2 grade points
- D — Passing: 1 grade point
- F — Failing: 0 grade points
The following notations are awarded 0 grade points and do not affect grade point averages: AU (Audit), CR (Credit), I (Incomplete), NC (No Credit), P (Pass), W (Withdrawal), NG (No Grade), NR (Not Reported), F_X (Failing - Unearned).

GPA Calculation and Course Repeat Policy
Grade point averages are calculated by dividing the total number of grade points earned by the total number of GPA hours.
Repeat policy: When a student repeats a course, the last grade received (excluding a W grade) is the permanent grade. Previous grades for that course are not included in calculating GPA or total hours for graduation, except for courses designed to be repeated.
Incomplete grades: An incomplete (I) must be resolved within 60 days after the end of the semester (with possible extension by the Dean of Instruction); otherwise the I converts to an F.
