How grading works at Blinn College
Blinn grades on a 4.0 scale with five letter grades: A (4), B (3), C (2), D (1), and F (0).
There is no A+ and no plus/minus grading at all — A itself, at 4.0, is the top of the scale.
Several marks appear on a transcript but carry no grade points and are not computed in your GPA, even though the college's own grade table prints a “0” next to them: I (Incomplete), IP (In Progress), Q (Dropped), W (Withdrawal), CR (Credit), NC (non-credit failure), M and P (Pass), NP (Not Passing), FS (Academic Fresh Start), AU (Audit), and PIA (Passing, STEM developmental math pathway).

How your GPA is calculated at Blinn
Grade points are assigned per the grading table above; your GPA is the grade points earned divided by credit hours attempted.
If you repeat a course, only your highest grade counts toward your cumulative GPA. A “W” or “Q” cannot replace an “F” or higher on a repeat, but an “F” does replace an earlier “W” or “Q”.

Academic probation and suspension at Blinn
You must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 to remain in academic good standing.
Falling below a 2.0 cumulative GPA at the close of a Fall or Spring semester places you on scholastic probation. Failing to reach a 2.0 semester and cumulative GPA by the end of a later long semester moves you to scholastic suspension for one long semester, though you may appeal to the scholastic appeals committee.
