University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) GPA Calculator

An I (Incomplete) grade is given only if a student has a genuine chance to earn a regular grade (A+ to D) by submitting outstanding coursework, or appeared for the mid-term but missed the final exam for a valid reason such as illness. A student normally must have completed two-thirds of the coursework to request an 'I'. If the 'I' is not replaced with a regular grade within the following semester, it automatically converts to an 'F'.

A W (Withdrawn) grade is given for withdrawing from a course within the deadline set in the Academic Calendar. An AW (Administrative Withdrawal) grade is given when the university withdraws a student from a course for academic dishonesty.

A student may retake a course in which they received a 'B' grade or lower, subject to course/seat availability; retaking requires re-registering and paying the applicable fees again.

A student who fails a course must consult their academic advisor during the Add/Drop period and must retake the course within the next two terms, paying the applicable fees. A student may not continue or register for further courses if they have an 'F' grade in a prerequisite course.

A student should complete their graduation requirements within 8 years from the date of first enrollment.

Undergraduate honors at convocation are awarded by CGPA range: Summa Cum Laude 3.95-4.00, Magna Cum Laude 3.85-3.94, and Cum Laude 3.75-3.84. The Gold Medal goes to the highest CGPA among undergraduates (and separately among graduate students).

A student who has retaken any course, for whatever reason (including courses transferred from other universities), is excluded from Summa Cum Laude but remains eligible for Magna Cum Laude.

Credits from another university or institution may be transferred after admission to ULAB, up to a maximum of half the total credits required for the degree. Only courses in which the student earned a grade of B or better are eligible, and Syllabi and Official Transcripts from the prior institution must be submitted. A transfer student must have a minimum CGPA of 2.0 and sit for the admission test. For Bangladeshi institutions, credits are only considered for transfer if the institution is UGC-approved.
