Grades are not rounded until the final grade for a course is calculated: a final percentage of .50 or higher rounds up (e.g. 79.50 becomes 80) and .49 or lower rounds down (e.g. 92.49 stays 92).

If a course is failed and later retaken, the unsuccessful attempt's grade stays in the GPA calculation until the course is passed; once passed, only the passing grade is included in the GPA.

A Proficient (P) grade has no effect on GPA — positive or negative — and is capped at 15 semester credits per degree program.

To stay in good academic standing and remain eligible for financial aid, students must meet minimum cumulative GPA (CGPA) thresholds that rise as they progress through their program: a CGPA of 1.0 through 24% of attempted program credits, 1.5 between 25% and 49%, and 2.0 from 50% onward.

Students who fall short of grading, attendance, financial, or conduct standards may be placed on academic probation and are removed once satisfactory progress is restored; failing to meet standards by the end of a probationary period can lead to termination.

To receive an undergraduate degree, a student must complete all required semester credit hours and coursework and achieve an overall cumulative GPA of at least 2.0.

Degree honors are awarded based on cumulative GPA at graduation:

• Summa Cum Laude: 3.80–4.0
• Magna Cum Laude: 3.70–3.79
• Cum Laude: 3.50–3.69

Credit awarded for external transfer coursework (TR grade) or for prior/internal credit (CR grade) counts toward credits earned and attempted but is not included in the cumulative GPA calculation.
