How grades are recorded at Majmaah University
Majmaah University records letter grades on a 5.00-point scale (A+ down to F), per the university's own Executive Rules implementing the Council of University Affairs' national study and examination regulation.

Semester GPA and cumulative GPA
The semester GPA is the sum of points earned in a semester's courses divided by the total credit hours attempted that semester; the cumulative GPA is the same calculation across every course taken since admission. Points for a course are found by multiplying its credit hours by the grade's point value.

Academic warning and dismissal
A student is issued an academic warning if their cumulative GPA falls below 2.00 out of 5.00. A student who receives three consecutive warnings is considered academically dismissed, though the university council may grant additional chances (on college council recommendation) to raise the cumulative GPA by taking further available courses.

Graduation GPA requirement
A student graduates after completing their program's requirements, provided their cumulative GPA is not below the level set by the university council for their specialization, and in no case below a Pass grade. A college council may also apply a GPA recalculation system for a student who has since passed a previously-failed course, excluding only Fail, Deprived, or Withdrew-Failing grades from the recount, capped at 25% of the study plan's total hours, and the recalculated cumulative GPA may not fall below 2.00 out of 5.00 (two out of five).

Graduation honors
First-Class Honors is granted to a student graduating with a cumulative GPA from 4.75 to 5.00; Second-Class Honors from 4.25 up to (but below) 4.75. Either honor also requires: no failing grade in any course taken at this or another university, completion within no more than the average of the college's minimum and maximum allowed study duration, and at least 60% of graduation requirements studied at Majmaah University itself.

Transfer between transitional and corresponding programs
A student in a transitional program transfers to the corresponding college once all transitional courses are completed with a grade of at least 2 out of 5 in each. A student who has completed 50% of the transitional program's plan hours may transfer with a cumulative GPA of 4 out of 5 or higher; one with only 6 hours remaining may transfer if their cumulative GPA is at least 2.5 out of 5.
