How grading works at Jubail Industrial College
Jubail Industrial College grades each course on a nine-level scale from A+ to F, with grade points running from 0.00 to 4.00 — its own "Education and Training Policy Guide" sets this table independently rather than adopting either column of the shared national (CUA) table used by many Saudi universities. Every course is marked out of 100, split between coursework and a comprehensive final exam.
To pass a course a student needs at least a D grade (60–64%, worth 1.00 point); anything below 60% is an F worth 0.00. A separate administrative code, DN (Denial), is assigned for excessive absence in a course rather than for exam performance and is excluded from GPA once a failed course is successfully retaken (see below).

How Jubail Industrial College calculates GPA
Quality points for a course are found by multiplying its credit hours by the grade points earned. The Semester GPA is total quality points earned that semester divided by total credit hours attempted.
- The Preparatory Year (the college's mandatory first-year program) and a student's Specialization program each carry their own separate cumulative GPA — Preparatory Year grades are not merged into the specialization cumulative average.
- Displacement Hours: an Associate's-degree student may exclude up to 15 credit hours of failing grades (F, DN, or WF) from their cumulative GPA once they retake and pass the course — the failed attempt still appears on the transcript but no longer counts toward the average.

Academic warning and dismissal at Jubail Industrial College
A specialization-program student is issued a first academic warning if their cumulative GPA falls below 2.00 at the end of a main semester, and a second warning if it remains below 2.00 for a second consecutive semester — at that point the case goes to the Academic Evaluation Committee, which may grant a chance to improve or recommend dismissal. A student is automatically discontinued if their cumulative GPA stays below 2.00 for three consecutive main semesters.
A student under academic warning also has their maximum course load cut to 12 credit hours per semester (compared with up to 18 for a student in good standing).

Minimum GPA to graduate from Jubail Industrial College
To graduate with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree, a student must complete all Preparatory Year and specialization requirements, finish the required Cooperative Training Program (a minimum 15-week work placement), stay within the allowed duration of study, and reach a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00.
The college also classifies every graduate's overall standing by cumulative GPA: Excellent (3.50–4.00), Very Good (3.00–3.49), and Good (2.00–2.99).

Semester and graduation honors at Jubail Industrial College
A student carrying at least 12 credit hours in a semester is named to the honor roll based on cumulative GPA: First Class Honors (3.75–4.00) or Second Class Honors (3.25–3.74).
The same two bands apply to graduation honors, with an added grade floor: First Class graduates must never have scored below C in any specialization course, and Second Class graduates must never have scored below D.

How transfer credit works at Jubail Industrial College
An incoming transfer student's prior cumulative average must be at least 2.00 on a 4.00 scale (or 2.75 on a 5.00 scale, or the equivalent on another scale), with instruction in English at the sending institution, before the college will consider the application; applicants must also sit placement exams.
Course equivalents from outside the college can be recognized for up to 10 credit hours of specialization courses (a minimum grade of C is required for general/Preparatory-Year courses to be equated). Equated courses appear on the transcript, but their grades and credit hours are not included in the student's cumulative GPA at graduation.
