Greenwich University, Karachi uses an Absolute Grading System on a 0.00–4.00 grade-point scale: your letter grade depends only on your own percentage in the course, not on how your classmates performed. The full band-to-grade-point mapping is shown in the Grade Scale Reference above.

A course grade is built from three components: quizzes, assignments, presentations and class participation together (30%), the midterm examination (30%), and the final examination (40%). The university's own policy states a pass percentage of 60%, corresponding to a C grade.

Greenwich computes both Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) the same way: multiply each course's credit hours by the grade point earned, sum across courses, then divide by the total credit hours attempted.

If you repeat a course you've already taken, the new grade substitutes the old one for CGPA purposes. If instead you take a different course in place of one you failed, both grades remain on your transcript and both count. You may not repeat a course for improvement once you've scored a B or higher in it; repeats for improvement are only allowed for grades of C or lower.

Greenwich's own regulations classify A, B, B+, C and C+ as passing grades; D and F are both classed as failing grades and must be repeated — even though D still earns 1.00 GPA points toward your CGPA rather than 0.00. A W (Withdrawal) grade also has to be repeated.

An undergraduate whose CGPA falls below 1.5, or a graduate student whose CGPA falls below 2.00, is placed on first probation for the next semester and restricted to 50% of the normal course load. Failing to recover to that floor by the end of a following “last probation” semester means being dropped from the faculty, with no re-admission to the same program. Any student who earns a 0.00 GPA in their first semester is dismissed outright, without a probation period.

To be eligible for a degree, a Greenwich University student must attain a graduating CGPA of at least 2.00 for undergraduate programs, or 2.50 for graduate programs.

Greenwich offers semester tuition-fee scholarships tied to GPA:

• A semester GPA of 4.00 earns a 60% tuition scholarship for that semester.
• A GPA of 3.75–3.99, with a CGPA of at least 3.5, earns 40%.
• A GPA of 3.50–3.74, with a CGPA of at least 3.5, earns 20%.

Eligibility requires no pending disciplinary action and a minimum course load that semester (15 credit hours for a Bachelor's program, 12 for a Master's). No more than 10% of a program's enrolled students in a semester can receive these scholarships; if demand exceeds that cap, a merit list is used instead.

Greenwich accepts transfer credit only for coursework completed at an HEC-recognized institution, evaluated case by case:

• No credit is given for a grade below B.
• Grades earned at another institution are excluded from your Greenwich CGPA — only coursework completed at Greenwich counts toward it, and transferred courses are recorded as “TR” on the transcript.
• Up to roughly 50% of a Bachelor's or Master's program's required credits can be satisfied via transfer.
• Course content must match a Greenwich course to at least 60% to be considered for transfer.

Undergraduates must complete at least 60 of the 124–130 credits required in residence at Greenwich; credit-transfer applications are not accepted once a student has already started their program of study there.
