Administrative Marks
Beyond the five graded letters (A–F), EFSC's transcript uses several administrative marks that carry no grade-point value and are not counted in the GPA: AU (Audit), I (Incomplete — converts to F if not resolved by the end of the next major term), N (developmental courses only — progressed but did not achieve course objectives), S/S1/S2 (Satisfactory, including MATV 0057 module progress), U (Unsatisfactory), W (Withdrawal), WC (Withdrawal, COVID-19, spring 2020 only), and W6 (Withdrawal, called to active military duty).

GPA Computation and Grade Forgiveness
GPA is calculated by multiplying each course's grade points by its credit hours, summing across courses, and dividing by total credit hours attempted. GPA is calculated by course level: a bachelor's-program GPA includes only 3000/4000-level coursework, an associate/college-credit GPA includes only 1000/2000-level coursework, and a vocational-program GPA includes only clock-hour courses. Transfer courses recorded with a grade of "T%" do not factor into the GPA.
Grade forgiveness: students may repeat only courses graded D, F, or W, for up to three attempts total (one initial enrollment plus two repeats); only the most recent grade counts toward the cumulative GPA. A course already passed with A, B, or C generally cannot be repeated for GPA purposes except under extenuating circumstances — if repeated, the first passing grade is the one counted in the GPA.

Minimum GPA for Graduation
A cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher is required to receive a degree at EFSC. While a student may earn a cumulative average of 2.0 that includes grades of D or F, grades below a C may not be acceptable in some programs and at some colleges and universities.

Scholastic Achievement
Based on the term GPA, EFSC recognizes high academic achievement at the end of fall and spring terms (bachelor's-degree students are assessed on upper-division, 3000/4000-level GPA only). Students must have earned at least six credit hours during the term to qualify.
- Dean's List: term GPA 3.25–3.74
- Honors List: term GPA 3.75–3.99
- President's List: term GPA 4.00
An F, I, or U grade/mark in any course during the term precludes a student from any of these lists.
