Grade Point Average Recomputation
An undergraduate student may petition to have their cumulative GPA recomputed if they have not attended CMU or any other institution for four or more consecutive years and they re-enroll after their matriculation was canceled or after withdrawing voluntarily with a cumulative GPA under 2.00. If approved, all prior courses remain on the record, but grades of A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, or CR count for credit only, and the student resumes with no cumulative GPA. Graduating under this policy requires earning at least 12 semester hours of credit at CMU after the recomputation is granted.
