Repeats and the Incomplete Grade
Under the Repetition of Course for Grade Replacement policy (University Group Policy #200.18), only courses in which a grade of C- or lower was earned may be repeated. A course may be taken a maximum of three times (two repeats). The highest grade earned in an approved repeat is used to compute the GPA; the other attempt(s) remain on the transcript but are excluded from the GPA. Undergraduates may replace grades in a maximum of four courses or 16 semester hours this way.
A grade of I (Incomplete) is temporary and carries no grade points. The missing work must be completed within 12 months, or the registrar automatically assigns a grade of F. P (Passing), W (Withdraw), and AU (Course Audit) also carry no grade points and are indicators of status only.

Good Academic Standing and Satisfactory Academic Progress
Under University Group Policy #301.9, undergraduates must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 and satisfactorily complete at least 67% of cumulative credit hours attempted to remain in Good Academic Standing (GAS) and make Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
Falling short automatically places a student on Academic Warning for one semester, then Academic Probation for up to two consecutive semesters if the GPA or completion rate is still not met. Failure to meet the requirement after two consecutive semesters of probation results in Academic Suspension — two regular-term semesters for a first suspension, three consecutive academic years for a second. Transfer credit cannot be used to clear a probationary or suspension status; it must be resolved through enrollment at WSSU.
