How Your GPA Is Calculated
Cumulative GPA is calculated by multiplying each course's credit hours by its numeric grade value to get grade points, adding all grade points together, then dividing by the total credits attempted. Seattle University does not round up the result.
If a course is repeated, the most recent grade earned is the one used in the cumulative GPA calculation.

Minimum GPA Requirements
Undergraduate students must maintain a minimum 2.00 cumulative GPA and a minimum 2.00 GPA in their major to remain in good academic standing and to earn a bachelor's degree; major GPA is calculated only once a student has earned at least 15 graded credits in the major. A minimum 2.00 GPA in a declared minor is required to earn that minor.
Graduate students must maintain a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA to remain in good academic standing and to earn a master's, educational specialist, or doctoral degree.

Dean's List & President's List
The Dean's List recognizes undergraduate academic achievement each quarter; students must earn at least a 3.5 GPA for the quarter and complete a minimum of 12 graded credits (pass/fail and credit/fail courses do not count toward these 12 credits).
The President's List recognizes academic excellence each quarter; students must earn at least a 3.9 GPA for the term and complete a minimum of 12 graded credits under the same pass/fail exclusion.

Do Pass/No Pass and Credit/No Credit grades affect my GPA?
