To determine the grade points earned in a course, NWACC multiplies the quality points for the assigned letter grade by the course's credit hours, then sums these across all courses in the term and divides by the total credit hours pursued that term. The cumulative GPA is calculated the same way, using all of the student's college work.
Grades of W, WA, WN, S, U, I, IP, and AU are not considered in determining GPA. A grade of "I" (incomplete) converts to "F" if the student does not complete the agreed coursework by the date stipulated in the Incomplete Contract.

How do I convert semester GPA to cumulative GPA at NWACC?
Your cumulative GPA is the credit-weighted average of your semester GPAs across every semester: (semester GPA₁ × credits₁ + … + semester GPAₙ × creditsₙ) ÷ (credits₁ + … + creditsₙ). Save each semester to the tracker on this page, by course or as a quick semester GPA + credits entry, and it works out your cumulative GPA on every save, edit and delete.
Is this NWACC GPA calculator free, and is my data private?
Yes. GPAWise is free, with no signup, and your courses and saved semesters stay in your browser: nothing is sent to our servers. "Clear all tracker data" on the tracker wipes them at any time.
