Delta College GPA Calculator

Delta College uses a full plus/minus 4.0-scale letter system: A (4.0), A- (3.7), B+ (3.3), B (3.0), B- (2.7), C+ (2.3), C (2.0), C- (1.7), D+ (1.3), D (1.0), D- (0.7), and F (0). There is no A+ grade at Delta College.

Several non-punitive notations — P (Pass), I (Incomplete), X (Audit), WI (Instructor Initiated Withdrawal), W (Withdrawal), NC (No Credit), and NG (Non-Graded Course) — carry no grade points and are not counted in your GPA at all.

Your Grade Point Average is total grade points divided by total credits attempted: each course's grade points equal its grade-point value multiplied by its credit hours. Credits Attempted only counts courses graded A through F — grades of NC, P, W, WI, I, and X are excluded from this total entirely, not just from the GPA numerator.

For a repeated course, only the highest grade earned counts toward your cumulative GPA, and the credits are counted once — every attempt still appears on your transcript, flagged as repeated. Transfer credits and credit earned by examination are not included in your Delta cumulative GPA.

A student is in Satisfactory standing when their cumulative GPA meets the Academic Status Scale for their credit hours attempted. Below that, standing moves to Academic Caution, then Academic Probation (13+ credit hours attempted and GPA below the required threshold), and then Academic Suspension after at least two semesters on probation without meeting an Academic Improvement Plan's conditions. The required GPA rises with credits attempted: below 1.50 at 0-12.9 credits is Probation-level, rising to a 2.00 floor for Satisfactory standing once 24+ credits have been attempted.

Suspended students may appeal, and can regain eligibility to enroll through an approved Academic Success Plan. An Academic Fresh Start appeal is available once per student: it recomputes a student's cumulative GPA using only grades earned after the approved Fresh Start point, converting pre-Fresh-Start grades below a C to NC on the transcript.

A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 ('C') is required to graduate with an associate degree or certificate at Delta College, in the specific courses required for that degree or certificate. Credits graded P (Pass) may count toward a degree or certificate, but only up to 20% of its total required credits and never more than 12 credits.

Each semester, Delta College recognizes students with a 4.0 GPA on the President's List, a 3.7–3.99 GPA on the Vice President's List, and a 3.5–3.69 GPA on the Dean's List. Eligibility requires completing at least 6 credit hours in the semester; Pass/No Credit coursework does not count.

Credits transferred in from other institutions, or earned by examination, are not included in a student's cumulative GPA at Delta College. Students planning to transfer out should confirm with a Delta advisor whether a receiving institution accepts the Pass/No Credit grading option for specific courses, since only 'P' or 'NC' — not the underlying letter grade — appears on the transcript for those courses.
