Repeat Courses and Transfer Credit
A course a student retakes (to improve a grade) only counts toward the cumulative GPA if the new attempt raises it (Article 42).
Courses failed, withdrawn from, or denied at another university are recorded on the academic transcript but are excluded from the cumulative GPA.

Academic Suspension and Dismissal
A cumulative GPA below 1.00 (on the 4.00 scale) for three consecutive terms results in an academic suspension being recorded, barring further course registration.
- A suspended student may request a 4th chance to register, needing college council approval and university council ratification.
- If the cumulative GPA is still not raised, a 5th chance may be requested, accompanied by a full academic report.
- A 6th chance may then be requested under the same approval process.
- If the cumulative GPA is still below the minimum after the 6th chance, the student is academically dismissed.

Graduation GPA Requirement
A student graduates after successfully completing the graduation requirements under the approved study system and plan, provided their cumulative GPA is not less than 1.00 (on the 4.00 scale). Graduation only takes effect once the University Council issues its decision.

Course Equivalency and Transfer
A transferred or visiting-student course is granted equivalency only if its content matches the equivalent Al-Baha University course by at least 75%.
- A newly admitted student may not request equivalency for courses studied before their admission.
- A student may transfer between colleges, departments, or majors at most twice during their studies at the university.

How do I convert SGPA to CGPA at BU?
Your CGPA is the credit-weighted average of every semester's SGPA. The formula is: CGPA = (SGPA₁ × credits₁ + SGPA₂ × credits₂ + … + SGPAₙ × creditsₙ) ÷ (credits₁ + credits₂ + … + creditsₙ). On this page, add each semester to the CGPA tracker (either by course or as a quick SGPA + credit-hours entry) and the calculator runs the conversion for you on every save, edit, and delete — no manual arithmetic required.
Can I add past semester GPAs without entering every course?
Yes. On the My CGPA Tracker tab, click "Add semester" and choose the quick-add option. You enter just the SGPA and the credit hours for that semester — no course-by-course breakdown required. It works as a GPA calculator with previous semesters support, or as a GPA calculator without course details when you only remember the SGPA from your transcript. Quick-added and course-by-course semesters can be mixed freely; both contribute to your CGPA using the same credit-weighted formula.
Is my CGPA tracker data sent to your servers?
No. Your saved semesters are stored locally in your browser only — nothing is transmitted to GPAWise. A "Clear all tracker data" button is always available on the tracker tab to wipe the data on demand.
