How non-letter marks affect your UC GPA
Several non-letter marks carry grade-point weight even though they are not standard letter grades:
- Incomplete (I): carries no grade-quality points and is not calculated into the GPA for 350 days after it is assigned.
- I/F: if an Incomplete is not resolved within 350 days, it converts to I/F, which carries 0.00 quality points and affects the GPA the same as an F.
- Unofficial Withdrawal (UW or X): carries 0.00 quality points and is calculated into the GPA like an F, whether the student partially attended (UW) or never attended (X).
- Official Withdrawal, no attendance (WX): has no impact on the GPA.
- Audit (T): carries no quality points and does not affect the GPA unless the student is instead assigned a failing grade for not meeting attendance expectations.

Frequently asked questions
What grading scheme does University of Cincinnati (UC) use?
Where does this UC grade scale come from?
Does this calculator work for UC graduate courses?
No. This calculator uses the University of Cincinnati's undergraduate grading scale. Graduate coursework at UC (effective Winter Quarter 2007) uses a separate, narrower 7-grade scale with no D-range at all -- C (2.0000 quality points) is the lowest passing grade, and F (0.0000) is the only failing grade.
