How GPA Is Calculated
GPA is the calculated average of the corresponding numerical value of your grades: total grade points divided by total semester hours, rounded to the nearest hundredth.
Grades earned at institutions other than St. Edward's University, grades of Pass or No Pass, remedial/developmental course grades, and grades replaced under the repeat-course policy are not calculated into the cumulative grade point average.

Course Repetition and Fresh Start
Beginning Fall 2019, students may repeat courses to replace grades earned in prior terms; only the highest grade earned is included in the cumulative GPA and earned hours, and repeated courses are flagged on the transcript.
Under the Fresh Start policy, coursework earned 10 or more years before petition approval with a grade of C or higher may count toward cumulative hours for degree completion, but is excluded from the cumulative GPA calculation.
