How GPA and CGPA are calculated
Term Grade Point Average (TGPA) is the total grade points earned in a Term divided by the credits taken that Term. Yearly Grade Point Average (YGPA) divides the total grade points earned across two Terms in a year by the credits taken that year. Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) divides the total grade points accumulated to date by the total completed credits.
An F grade is not counted toward GPA/CGPA calculation, though it is shown on the grade sheet. Both GPA and CGPA are rounded to two decimal places for reporting.

Minimum credits and CGPA to graduate
The minimum CGPA requirement for a Bachelor/Bachelor's (Honours) degree is 2.50. Minimum earned credits required are 140 for most Schools (Life Science, Management and Business Administration, Arts and Humanities, Social Science, Fine Arts, Law, Education) and 140/160 for the 4-year/5-year tracks in Science, Engineering and Technology.
Students may take extra courses (up to 15 additional credits in a 4-year program, 18 in a 5-year program) with their Head of Discipline's consent to raise their GPA.

Degree with Distinction
Students are awarded the Degree with distinction if their CGPA is 3.75 or above.

Credit transfer and credit waiver
Khulna University permits both outward credit transfer (a KU student applying, through their Head of Discipline, to the Registrar for a transfer certificate) and inward credit transfer (students from other universities applying to the Registrar, assessed by a three-member committee).
Inward credit transfer is capped at 50% of the total credits required for the degree; inward credit waiver is capped at 20%. The final transcript for such students shows only the number of credits transferred.
