How grading works at CCP

CCP grades on a 4.0 scale with quality points assigned per letter grade: A (4), B (3), C (2), D (1), and F (0). CCP does not use plus/minus grading — there is no A+, A-, B+, or any other modified letter grade.

An FS (Failure - Stopped Attending) grade also carries a quality-point value of 0, the same as F.

How your GPA is calculated at CCP

Your GPA is the total quality points received divided by the total credit hours for all courses graded. Quality points for each course are the credit hours multiplied by the quality points earned for the grade received.

Courses from which you officially withdraw are excluded from the GPA computation (though they still count toward academic-progress calculations). You may withdraw without academic penalty through the 11th week of a regular term. If a withdrawal is not officially processed within that time limit, the course is instead recorded as a grade of F.

Semester Honors at CCP

To be named to the Semester Honors list, you must: achieve a semester GPA of at least 3.2; complete at least 6 credit hours in courses carrying credit toward graduation; receive no grade below "C" during that semester; and receive no "Incomplete" grade during that semester.

Frequently asked questions

Can I save my semesters and track my CGPA at CCP?
Yes. After you calculate a semester's GPA, click "Save as semester" to add it to the built-in CGPA tracker, which then computes your cumulative GPA across every saved semester using the standard weighted formula (Σ SGPA × credits ÷ Σ credits). You can save semesters by course (full breakdown) or quick-add a past semester with just the SGPA and credit hours. Locking, renaming, and deleting saved semesters are all supported, and the tracker shows a running CGPA plus a trend arrow versus your previous semester.
How do I convert SGPA to CGPA at CCP?
Your CGPA is the credit-weighted average of every semester's SGPA. The formula is: CGPA = (SGPA₁ × credits₁ + SGPA₂ × credits₂ + … + SGPAₙ × creditsₙ) ÷ (credits₁ + credits₂ + … + creditsₙ). On this page, add each semester to the CGPA tracker (either by course or as a quick SGPA + credit-hours entry) and the calculator runs the conversion for you on every save, edit, and delete — no manual arithmetic required.
Can I add past semester GPAs without entering every course?
Yes. On the My CGPA Tracker tab, click "Add semester" and choose the quick-add option. You enter just the SGPA and the credit hours for that semester — no course-by-course breakdown required. It works as a GPA calculator with previous semesters support, or as a GPA calculator without course details when you only remember the SGPA from your transcript. Quick-added and course-by-course semesters can be mixed freely; both contribute to your CGPA using the same credit-weighted formula.
Is my CGPA tracker data sent to your servers?
No. Your saved semesters are stored locally in your browser only — nothing is transmitted to GPAWise. A "Clear all tracker data" button is always available on the tracker tab to wipe the data on demand.
Is this Community College of Philadelphia (CCP) GPA calculator free?
Yes — GPAWise is completely free to use. There's no signup, no paywall, and your inputs stay in your browser.
Does CCP use plus/minus grading (A+, A-, B+, etc.)?

No. CCP's Grading System table lists only whole-letter grades — A (4), B (3), C (2), D (1), F (0), and FS (0) — with no plus or minus modifiers.

Does an FS grade affect my GPA at CCP?

Yes. FS (Failure - Stopped Attending) carries a quality-point value of 0, the same as a regular F, and is factored into your GPA the same way.

What happens to my GPA if I withdraw from a course at CCP?

An official withdrawal processed within the first 11 weeks of a regular term results in a "W" grade, which carries no quality-point value and is excluded from your GPA computation. If the withdrawal is not processed in time, the course is instead recorded as an "F," which does count toward your GPA.
