How grading works at UB
UB grades undergraduates on a 4.000-point scale: A (4.000), A- (3.667), B+ (3.333), B (3.000), B- (2.667), C+ (2.333), C (2.000), C- (1.667), D+ (1.333), D (1.000), and F (0.000).
There is no A+ — A is the top of the scale. There is no D- — D+ and D are the lowest passing grades before failure.

How your GPA is calculated at UB
Your GPA is the ratio of grade points earned to graded credits. Each course's grade points are multiplied by its credit hours, those are summed, and the total is divided by your total graded credit hours. The result is rounded to the nearest thousandth (e.g. 4.000).
Only letter grades A through F count toward your GPA. Grades of S, U, P, N, NC, I, W, and similar non-letter notations don't affect your GPA at all.

Academic standing at UB

Full-time undergraduates earning a 3.600 GPA or higher while completing 12+ letter-graded credit hours are named to the Dean's List each fall and spring semester.
