Repeating Courses
When a student repeats a course in which they received a D or F, only the best grade and grade points earned in the repetitions are used in calculating the cumulative TSC GPA and credits earned; this forgiveness does not transfer to other institutions.
- Students may not repeat a course in which they earned a C or better, or seek forgiveness after earning the Associate in Arts degree, except for courses designated repeatable (e.g. music, individualized study) or required by a regulatory agency.
- Students are limited to three attempts per course (original grade plus repeats and withdrawals); a fourth attempt requires an academic appeal for major extenuating circumstances.

Academic Standing
To remain in good standing, students must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 1.75 (1–14 credit hours) or 2.0 (15+ credit hours), and complete 67% of attempted courses if receiving financial aid.
- Academic Alert: first term below standard; enrollment capped at 13 credit hours per semester.
- Academic Notice (probation): second consecutive term below standard; capped at 9 credit hours per semester; posted on the transcript.
- Academic Suspension: continued shortfall while on probation; barred from enrolling for one full term; readmission requires an Academic Success Action Plan.
- Academic Dismissal: continued shortfall after returning from suspension; barred from enrolling for at least one calendar year.
Veterans receiving VA educational benefits who fail to earn a 2.0 GPA for two consecutive terms are reported to the VA for unsatisfactory progress.

Graduation Requirements
Degree candidates must achieve a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 across all applicable coursework for their program, combining transfer credit and TSC credit; only the best grade in a repeated course counts toward this computation.
Graduates must complete at least 25% of the credit hours required for their degree in residence at TSC, and must satisfy the requirements published in the catalog for the year they entered, subject to the college's continuous-enrollment rules.

Honors and Awards
Term recognition (President's, Dean's and Honor's lists) requires a term GPA of 4.0, 3.5 and 3.0 respectively, with at least six credit hours completed.
Associate degree honors (by cumulative GPA at graduation): 3.0–3.49 Honor Graduate; 3.5–3.99 Honor Graduate/Dean's List; 4.0 Honor Graduate/President's List — each noted “With Honors” on the diploma.
Baccalaureate Latin honors: Cum Laude 3.5–3.74, Magna Cum Laude 3.75–3.99, Summa Cum Laude 4.0.
Graduates with a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher who are Phi Theta Kappa members have that noted on the diploma.

Transfer Credit
TSC accepts transfer credit for first-year and sophomore-level coursework graded D or higher, up to a maximum of 75% of the credit hours required for degree completion.
Credit is also awarded for Advanced Placement, IB, AICE, CLEP, DSST and Excelsior College examinations, and for evaluated military training/experience. Coursework from institutions participating in Florida's Statewide Course Numbering System transfers directly; quarter credit hours convert to semester hours at a 2:3 ratio.
