Park University GPA Calculator

Beyond the standard letter grades, Park University's catalog defines several marks that behave differently in the cumulative GPA:

• Cr (Passing), Au (Audit), and P (Pass) do not affect a student's grade point average, though they may impact financial aid eligibility.
• W (Withdrawal) is issued without assessment of performance and carries no grade points.
• WF (Withdrawal) — whether student-initiated after the withdrawal deadline or instructor-initiated for non-participation — receives the same grade points as an F and is counted in the GPA.
• An Incomplete (I) not resolved by the deadline set in the Contract for Incomplete converts to a grade of F.

When a Park University course is repeated, both the credit granted and the computation of the cumulative GPA are based on the second attempt.

Graduate students may not repeat a course in which they earned a grade of B or better; a course graded C or lower may be repeated once, and no more than six credit hours may be repeated within a declared graduate program.

Undergraduate: a student is in good standing with a cumulative Park University GPA of 2.00 or better. A GPA below 2.0 in a term brings an Academic Warning; failure to reach a 2.00 cumulative GPA results in Academic Probation. Suspension thresholds for bachelor's-seeking students are a cumulative GPA below 1.00 (0-27 earned hours), below 1.50 (28-57 hours), or below 1.75 (58+ hours, including transfer hours); the same 1.00/1.50/1.75 tiers apply to associate's-seeking students at 0-15, 16-30 and 31+ hours respectively, and certificate-seeking students are suspended below a 1.00 cumulative GPA. A first-time Park undergraduate is placed on probation rather than suspension the first time suspension criteria are met. Students readmitted after suspension are not suspended again as long as they maintain a 2.0 GPA each subsequent Fall and Spring semester.

Graduate: good standing requires a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Falling below 3.0 results in Academic Probation; suspension follows if a student earns below 3.0 in a review cycle while on probation, or fails to restore a 3.0 cumulative GPA within two review cycles.

Graduate students must complete required program coursework and electives with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, with no grade lower than a C and no more than six credit hours graded C at the time of graduation (individual programs may set higher requirements).

A double major (two majors within the same degree program) requires a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0, for both associate's and bachelor's double-major completion.

Dean's List requires a 3.600 or better GPA across a combined fall (or spring) term or terms, 12 or more graded undergraduate hours, degree/certificate-seeking status, and no Incomplete grades in that period; it is not retroactive for later grade or Incomplete changes.

Presidential Scholar's List requires enrollment at the Parkville Daytime Campus Center, 30 or more graded hours earned, 12 or more hours enrolled that semester, degree-seeking status, a 3.9 or better cumulative GPA, and no Incompletes that semester.

Graduation Honors (bachelor's level, 30 or more Park University hours) are awarded by cumulative Park University GPA: Cum Laude 3.500-3.699, Magna Cum Laude 3.700-3.899, Summa Cum Laude 3.900-4.000. Graduation honors are not retroactive for grade or Incomplete changes.
