Concordia University Irvine also uses several non-letter grade notations, none of which carry grade points. Audit (AU) marks a course attended for no credit. Grade Delay (GD) is a temporary placeholder until the instructor submits a grade. In Progress (IP) is used for multi-term work such as internships, practicums, or theses, and defaults to F or NP if not completed within four semesters. Pass (P), No Pass (NP), Satisfactory (S), Unsatisfactory (U), and Withdrawal (W) all appear on the transcript but are not calculated in the GPA.

Most courses may be repeated to raise a grade: both attempts remain on the transcript, but only the higher grade counts toward the cumulative GPA. Selected skill-based courses may instead be repeated for additional credit.

An Incomplete (I) postpones submission of coursework with instructor consent and must normally be resolved within four weeks of the course's end. Until resolved, academic standing is calculated using a default grade of C, D, F, or NP assigned at the same time as the Incomplete; failure to resolve the Incomplete converts it automatically to that default grade.

A student whose semester GPA falls below 2.00 is placed on academic probation for the following semester and may register for no more than 13 units. A student whose semester GPA is 2.00 or above but whose institutional GPA remains below 2.00 stays on probation until the institutional GPA reaches 2.00.

A student is academically disqualified as a degree student if their GPA falls below 2.00 for two consecutive semesters while their institutional GPA is below 2.00, or if their institutional GPA falls below 1.00 in a single semester. Undergraduate students are in Good Academic Standing when their overall cumulative GPA is 2.0 or above; for graduate students the threshold is 3.0 or above.

A full-time undergraduate student with a semester GPA of 3.80 or higher is placed on the Deans' List; a semester GPA between 3.50 and 3.79 earns Academic Commendation. Recognition requires carrying at least 12 units.

Latin honors at graduation are based on cumulative GPA across all coursework taken at Concordia and at other colleges and universities attended: cum laude for a GPA between 3.70 and 3.799, magna cum laude for 3.80 to 3.899, and summa cum laude for 3.90 or above.

Concordia accepts transfer grades of C- or better. Up to 90 semester units may be transferred overall, of which at most 70 units may come from a regionally accredited community college.

Within the 90-unit cap, up to 15 units of Pass (P), Satisfactory (S), or Credit (CR) grades — each equivalent to a C- or higher — may be applied toward degree requirements, but this credit does not count in a student's incoming, cumulative, or institutional GPA at Concordia.
