University of Central Punjab (UCP) GPA Calculator

UCP grades undergraduate coursework on a 0.00–4.00 grade-point scale, with eleven letter grades from A down to F. The University describes its scheme as a relative grading system applied on an absolute (fixed percentage-band) scale — each letter grade corresponds to a specific marks percentage range and grade point, shown in the Grade Scale Reference on this page.

The minimum passing grade is D, worth 1.00 grade point at 50% marks; below 50% is an F (0.00 grade points, no credit earned).

UCP's Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is computed from earned grade points across a student's completed courses. A few rules shape what counts toward it:

• A withdrawn (W) course, requested within the announced withdrawal period, is not counted toward GPA. Withdrawing after that period instead results in an F grade.
• A student who receives an F grade must repeat that course (or its equivalent); both the original and repeat grades appear on the transcript, but only the better grade counts toward CGPA.
• To improve CGPA, a student may repeat up to 6 courses within the normal degree duration; again, only the better of the two grades is used in the CGPA calculation.
• If a student fails a course, repeats it, and fails again, only one F is counted regardless of how many attempts were made.

An undergraduate at UCP who fails to maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.00 is placed on warning status when that semester's results are declared. A student who receives two consecutive warnings is placed on probation for the following semester — if their CGPA is still below 2.00 at the end of that semester, they are required to discontinue their program.

A student may also request a review of a final grade (limited to omission and calculation errors) within two weeks of the results being declared, and can request a retake of a final examination missed due to serious illness or the death of an immediate family member.

To be awarded an undergraduate degree, a UCP student must complete their program's prescribed credit hours and internship requirement, and achieve a minimum CGPA of 2.00 (on the 4.00 scale). The standard duration for an undergraduate degree is four years (eight regular semesters), with a maximum allowed duration of seven years (14 regular semesters); two-year programs have a four-year maximum.

UCP awards Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals to the top three students of each degree-program batch, in order of merit, at convocation. To qualify, a graduate must have:

• completed their degree within the regular duration (four years / eight semesters for most undergraduate programs, except Pharm-D);
• a CGPA of 3.50 or higher, with no CGPA ever falling below 3.50;
• no repeat courses and no F grade anywhere on the transcript;
• no disqualifying W grades, no transferred credits from another program or institution, and no disciplinary record.

If two or more students tie for a medal position, all tied students receive that category's medal.
