How the GPA is calculated
Only grades of A, B, C, D, F, WF, and XF are included in the calculation of the cumulative grade point average. Grades of "I" (Incomplete) and "W" (Withdrawal) carry no grade points and are excluded from the calculation. An incomplete grade must be resolved by the end of the next long semester (fall or spring) or it converts to an "F."
Developmental course grades are included in the Financial Aid GPA calculation for each semester, but are excluded from the final cumulative GPA and do not count as credit toward any degree or certificate.

Academic standing
A student is in good standing as long as their cumulative GPA is 2.0 or higher on a 4-point scale. Once a student's cumulative GPA falls below 2.0, the student is placed on academic warning and remains there until the cumulative GPA reaches 2.0 or higher again. Academic standing is computed at the end of each fall and spring semester, based on all work completed and/or accepted in transfer at Texarkana College.

Grade of D and transfer
A grade of D is acceptable for transfer to Texarkana College, but students should be aware that a D may not transfer to a senior institution — transfer credit is determined by the accepting institution. A grade of D is not acceptable in ADN Nursing, Vocational Nursing, or developmental courses.
