How Your GPA Is Calculated
Semester GPA is the number of grade points earned in a semester divided by the number of credits in that semester for which grades counted in the GPA were earned; grade points for a course equal the grade point value multiplied by the course's credits. Cumulative GPA (CGPA) is the total grade points earned divided by the number of Millersville GPA credits.
- Credits from audited courses, subsequently repeated courses, advanced-standing credit (AP, CLEP), and transfer credits are not included in the CGPA.
- The GPA is rounded to two decimal places, effective fall 2004.
- D- is the minimum earned credit; some general education and major requirements set a higher minimum grade for full credit toward those specific requirements.
- S and U grades (used for student teaching and other field experiences) are not counted in the GPA. Under the Pass-or-Fail option, P is not counted, but an F earned under Pass-or-Fail is counted.
- A grade of Z (no adequate evaluation for grading) is treated the same as F when calculating the GPA.
