How Clayton State calculates GPA
GPA is calculated by dividing the total number of quality points earned by the total number of semester credit hours attempted in courses numbered 1000 or higher.
Clayton State calculates two overall GPAs: the Regents' GPA (sometimes called cumulative GPA), the average of all 1000-level-and-above courses with numerical equivalents ever attempted; and the Institutional GPA, the average of the most recent attempts of all such courses.

Which GPA determines academic standing
Institutional GPA — not Regents' GPA — is used to determine academic standing (good standing, probation, suspension, or dismissal) and eligibility for graduation.
