Honors sections and non-GPA notations
Grades of A and B classes may carry an HA or HB designation indicating an Honors class or Honors option, worth the same grade points as A and B respectively.
Other transcript notations do not carry a grade-point value and are not counted in the GPA: CR (credit by exam), FN (faculty-initiated non-attendance withdrawal), FW (faculty-initiated withdrawal), I (incomplete — converts to F if not resolved by the end of the next term), CR/NC (credit by exam only), P (pass/fail), IP (in progress), W (withdrawal), AU (audit), and Z (course in progress).

How GPA is calculated
GPA is the total grade points earned divided by total credits attempted for courses graded A, B, C, D, or F.
If you repeat a course, only the best grade is computed into your GPA. The lower grade stays on the transcript in parentheses but is excluded from the GPA calculation. Courses may be repeated as often as you wish.

Satisfactory Academic Progress
Minimum standards of academic progress: a cumulative GPA of 2.0 and a cumulative completion rate of at least 66.67% of credits attempted, evaluated at the end of each term.
- Academic Warning — issued for the next term if you fall below the minimum GPA or completion-rate standard.
- Academic Suspension — imposed if you remain below standard after a term on warning; a first suspension bars enrollment for one semester (not including summer).
- Continued Probation — after suspension or an approved appeal, you remain on probation until cumulative standards (2.0 GPA and 66.67% completion) are met again.
