Linn-Benton Community College (LBCC) GPA Calculator

Linn-Benton Community College offers three grading options for credit classes, assigned by the Academic Affairs Office: a standard A-F letter grade (with Incomplete available), or an "optional" practice letting a student request a Pass/No Pass grade instead. A request for Pass/No Pass grading is made at the Registration Office within an appropriate period during the term.

When a letter grade is submitted for a class where a student has requested the P/NP option, grades A through C convert to Pass and a D or F converts to No Pass.

An Incomplete (IN) grade may be issued at the instructor's discretion for non-completion of course work, and requires an Incomplete Grade Contract. If a final letter grade is not submitted by the end of the following quarter (excluding summer), the Incomplete converts to the default grade.

An Audit (AU) grade may be requested by a student at the time of registration only. A Withdrawal (W) grade is issued only upon a student's official withdrawal from a class within the appropriate period.

When a course is repeated and a higher grade is earned, the lowest grade is excluded from the cumulative grade point average (CGPA); the excluded grade is marked "E" on the transcript and the included grade is marked "I". If the grades for both attempts are the same, the earlier attempt is included and the more recent attempt is excluded from the CGPA.

Under Academic Renewal, a student who meets established guidelines may have substandard work from two terms excluded from grade calculation. The non-passing grades are not counted in the student's GPA and are noted with a "Z" alongside the earned grade on the transcript.

NP, F, IN (Incomplete), Audit, W (Withdrawal), and CMP grades do not count as completion for either financial aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) or academic progress.
