North Idaho College (NIC) GPA Calculator

NIC uses one common grading scale for all courses, running from A (4.0) down to F (0.0), with plus/minus grades in between (A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, D+, D, D-) — there's no A+.

Some marks carry no grade points and aren't counted in your GPA: W (withdrawal), S (satisfactory, for designated courses), U (unsatisfactory), and NG (no grade). An S requires work of at least C (2.0) quality.

An incomplete (I) is only given if you were attending and doing passing work within three weeks of the semester's end. It must be resolved within six weeks after the first class day of the following term (excluding summer), or it converts to whatever permanent grade your instructor specified in writing when the incomplete was assigned.

Grades of W, S, or U are excluded from your GPA calculation entirely — they don't raise or lower your average either way.

You're placed on Academic Probation when your cumulative GPA falls below the required 2.00.

You're placed on Academic Suspension when your semester GPA falls below the required 2.00 while you're already on academic probation.

An Associate's degree (AA/AS) typically requires the equivalent of two years of full-time study, a minimum of 60 semester credits of 100- and 200-level courses, and a cumulative GPA of 2.00.

An Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree carries the same 60-credit and 2.00 cumulative GPA requirement, designed to lead directly to employment in a specific field.
