Columbia College Chicago GPA Calculator

Your Columbia College Chicago GPA includes grades of A, B, C, and D (including plus and minus grades) and F. It does not include Pass (P), Incomplete (I), Withdrawal (W), Withdrawn Administratively (WA), Unreported (NG), No Show (NS), or Audit (AU) grades.

Grades from accepted transfer coursework are not included in your Columbia GPA.

If you retake a course that isn't designated repeatable for credit (up to two attempts total), the grade from the retaken course -- whether higher, lower, or the same as your original grade -- is included in the computation of your GPA.

To stay in good academic standing, undergraduate students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above and complete at least two-thirds (67%) of their attempted credit hours each semester.

Falling short leads through sequential statuses: Academic Warning, then Academic Dismissal if standards still aren't met after a semester on warning, then -- if a standing appeal is approved -- Academic Probation, and Academic Probation Continuance for students who adhere to their academic plan.

All Columbia College Chicago bachelor's degrees (BA, BS, BFA, BMus) require a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 to graduate.

The Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Fine Arts additionally require a minimum 3.0 GPA in the major.

Full-time students (12 or more credits per semester) with a term GPA of 3.75 or higher earn Dean's List recognition.

• Cumulative GPA 3.80-3.89: Magna Cum Laude
• Cumulative GPA 3.90 or higher: Summa Cum Laude

Students with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or greater are also eligible to enroll in Honors Program courses.

Transfer coursework must be completed with a C grade or better to be accepted, and Columbia accepts a maximum of 75 transfer credits.

Grades and grade points from transfer coursework do not transfer -- accepted transfer credit is not included in your Columbia GPA calculation.
