How grading works at FGCU
It is up to each college, department, or instructor to use all, some, or none of the plus/minus grades (A-, B+, B-, C+, C-, D+, D-) when assigning grades, as long as the grading system is communicated to students in the course syllabus. Numerical ranges for each letter grade are set by the individual instructor, not published university-wide — FGCU's catalog does not print a single percentage-to-letter conversion table. There is no A+ anywhere in FGCU's grading scale, which tops out at A = 4.0.

How your GPA is calculated at FGCU
FGCU reports three GPA figures: the Overall GPA (FGCU + accepted transfer credits and grades), the Institutional GPA (FGCU credits and grades only — shown as "Cumulative GPA" in Gulfline, and used for academic standing, Honors eligibility, athletics eligibility, and graduation honors), and the Transfer GPA (transfer credits and grades only).
Courses graded on a Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory (S/U) basis and courses taken for audit are not included in the GPA calculation. A grade of Incomplete (I) is also not computed into the GPA. GPAs are truncated, not rounded, to the second decimal place.

Does an Incomplete (I) grade at FGCU affect your GPA?
No. FGCU's catalog states plainly: "A grade of I is not computed in a student's GPA." An unresolved Incomplete converts to an F after one year (or at graduation, if sooner) if the instructor has not reported a grade by then — at which point it would count as an F.

Do Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory (S/U) or audited courses count toward your GPA at FGCU?
No. FGCU's GPA Definitions page states: "Courses with satisfactory/unsatisfactory grading and courses taken for audit are not included in this calculation" of the Overall GPA.

The course is posted with a grade of NR (Not Reported). If the instructor still hasn't reported a grade by the end of the following semester, the NR is automatically converted to an F.
